The Deerlands Cabin, in the Adirondacks, had a faulty foundation system and in 2011 was finally giving way after almost 100 years of service. The project involved replacing the foundation and expanding the floor plan of the cabin into the formerly uninhabitable day-light basement. I was responsible to develop the design for the basement and foundation, specify materials and details, and manage the construction. The foundation has been poured; however, the finish work is held up due to budget constraints.
